The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has successfully apprehended four individuals who were allegedly involved in a sophisticated fraudulent gold trading scheme operating out of the upscale Runda estate. This operation has raised significant concerns regarding financial crimes in the area.

The suspects, identified as Felix Odiambo Otieno, Derrick Odhiambo Omore, Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed, and Moses Odhiambo Auma, were taken into custody following a report from a foreign national who claimed to have been swindled out of USD 200,000 in a counterfeit gold operation.

Acting on this information, DCI detectives executed a targeted raid at a residence situated on plot number 685 along Glory Valley Lane, where they successfully detained the four suspects, although several accomplices managed to evade capture.

During the search of the premises, investigators uncovered approximately 9.5 kilograms of fake gold bars, a weighing scale, a plastic briefcase containing an electronic gold tester, and various documents related to their illicit activities, highlighting the extent of the operation and the sophistication of the tools used in their deception.
