The Afya Sacco Scandal: Staff Charged with Stealing Sh 55M

A man has been charged with fraud involving Sh 55 million at the Milimani Law Courts.

Patric Muithi Muthangya faces allegations of conspiring to commit theft from Afya Sacco Society Limited, with the offenses occurring on various dates between December 8, 2016, and November 1, 2021, at an undisclosed location in Kenya.

Additionally, he is accused of stealing Sh 55 million from the Sacco during the same timeframe.

Muithi has been granted bail set at Sh 3 million, with the option of a surety or a cash bail of Sh 1m, along with two contact persons.
