The prosecution has chosen not to contest the bond or cash bail, allowing the defendant’s legal team, headed by Conrad Maloba, to agree to the court’s stipulations regarding these financial arrangements. The primary allegation against the defendant states that between March 31 and May 30, 2024, in Nairobi County, Kenya, he, along with unidentified accomplices, conspired to commit a serious crime.
Specifically, they are accused of attempting to steal a substantial amount of money—USD 1,271,200.74—from Tanner Caldwell Cook by deceitfully claiming they could facilitate the sale of 2,028 kilograms of gold, a claim they knew to be untrue.
