A prominent Kenyan lawyer is reportedly facing allegations of temporarily engaging in land fraud, as suggested by the ongoing court proceedings.
Mr. Stuart Gerald Cullinan Herd has accused Eric Agolla Lugalia of unlawfully defrauding him of a parcel of land valued at Sh250 million, which he has held for the past year.
Agolla asserts that the land was granted to him by former President William Ruto. However, recent revelations led the high court to issue an order prohibiting Agolla from accessing the property, following evidence that he allegedly employed forgery and deceitful methods to obtain it, including the fabrication of an identity card.
While delivering his ruling in the matter, Justice Samson Okong’o also directed the officer in charge of Karen Police Station to ensure maintenance of law and order in the said land,, which belongs to businessman Stuart Gerald Cullinan Herd, who had been subjected to injustices and faced some death threats from Agolla’s circle.
“ I want the court to understand that although I am still in physical and actual possession of the property. Pilot Eric Agolla Lugalia himself, alongside his allied armed gangs, has been harassing me and continues to invade my properties,” read the court papers in parts.
Following the said developments, Lugalia was arrested and charged with fraud and forgery.
He was charged with forging a land title dated August 2, 2025, purporting it to be a genuine certificate from the Ministry of Land. Eric Agolla was charged with the second count of forging a sale agreement for the land, purporting it to be a genuine certificate of title issued by the Ministry of Lands. He in brief, used fraudulent tricks to defraud, and of today, he is a dangerous man to deal with.
